INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

The University’s international cooperation is a multidimensional and multi-faceted activity. Recently, it mainly involves:

  • projects implemented under international programs, including those run by the European Commission;
  • informal cooperation between the units of the Poznań University of Life Sciences and several partners, focusing on the development of a selected research topic;
  • bilateral cooperation initiated, coordinated and co-financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education;
  • cooperation with other centers, as provided for in the agreements signed by the Poznań University of Life Sciences.

As a part of the University’s cooperation, particular attention is paid to projects covered by the HORYZONT 2020 framework program, including without limitation:

  • Research and Innovation Action (RIA) focused on developing new knowledge and assessing the implementability of, or improvements to, new technologies, services and products,
  • individual research and training grants (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships, IF) aimed at developing the creativity and innovative potential of experienced scientists by working on an individual research project in the academic and non-academic sectors (primarily including enterprises), whether in Europe or beyond,
  • Coordination and Support Actions (CSA) promoting the cooperation and coordination of research and innovative activities on a national level, by defining, organizing and managing shared initiatives.

In 2015, the Poznań University of Life Sciences was awarded a grant by the Foundation for the Development of the Education System for the implementation of Erasmus+, i.e. for: student and university teacher exchange; mobility of staff other than university teachers; internships; and supporting the organization of mobility.

For several years, the Poznań University of Life Sciences has become increasingly attractive to foreign students. There are more and more students from international partner universities which intend not only to carry out a part of their studies but also to undertake an internship, for instance in the laboratories.

As a part of the “Academic City of Poznań” project, the University is visited by prominent scientists and lecturers from various countries. Lectures given by the invitees are highly popular among students and external attendees.

Currently, the University has 32 cooperative research and teaching agreements in place with various countries.
