Our cooperation with Chinese agricultural universities is intensifying

The Poznań University of Life Sciences has concluded a memorandum on cooperation with another institution from the People's Republic of China, the Henan Agricultural University, with a similar education offer and research profile to ours.

On the 19th of July our university was visited by a delegation of 5 professors from the Henan Agricultural University. The aim of this visit was to initiate contacts in the establishment of joint research programmes, exchange of scientists and students. The cooperation will focus on research and training as well as technological innovations in the field of natural sciences.

HAU is a university, which beginnings date back to over 100 years ago, with a seat in Zhengzhan (in south-central China, south of the Yellow River), administered by the Henan province. It is an agricultural province, with wheat (25 % national production) and maize (10%) being the main crops.

The Poznań University of Life Sciences is another scientific centre worldwide (after those from e.g. from the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, Great Britain and Holland), with which this Chinese university intends to cooperate.

The agreement was signed by the PULS Rector Prof. dr hab. Jan Pikul and Vice-Rector of the Henan Agricultural University, Prof. Tan Jinfaang.

Before this agreement was signed, in the morning of that day, both parties conducted talks to specify the framework for the cooperation of both our universities. In that part of their stay the Chinese scientists were informed by Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation Prof. Krzysztof Szoszkiewicz on the organisational structure and specific character of our research activities. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Roman Hołubowicz.
