The first scientific conference of international students at the Poznan University of Life Sciences

The first Scientific Conference of International Students at the Poznan University of Life Sciences, which took place on April 26th of this year, was organized under the auspices of the International Students Association of the Poznan University of Life Sciences (PULS-ISA). The event provided an opportunity to showcase the diverse research talents of the international student community.

"My research indicates that this is not only the first conference of its kind in Poznan but also in Poland as a whole," says the event's initiator, prof. dr hab. Jean Diatta, the Rector's Plenipotentiary for Foreign Students. "Its aim is not only to emphasize the importance of international academic cooperation but above all to activate our foreign students scientifically by inspiring them to compete in the field of science and arousing their passion for exploring new areas of knowledge and creatively solving problems," adds the Professor.

The conference began with speeches from university authorities, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and scientific exchange in expanding knowledge. Attention was also drawn to international students' significant role in the university development through their scientific activities and the diversity of perspectives they bring to the academic environment.

The highlight of the meeting was the scientific competition involving the presentation of research results. Each speaker was allotted fifteen minutes, consisting of a ten-minute presentation and a five-minute question-and-answer session. This format allowed for concise information delivery while promoting engagement and scholarly discourse. The presentations covered various disciplines and included all English study programs offered at UPP.

The level of presentations at the conference was high, resulting in awards being given to the best presenters.

First award: Tweneboah Kodua Dwamena, MSc student at Environmental Engineering and Protection (Faculty: Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering); Topic: Geospatial analysis: impact of illegal mining on cocoa growing areas in Southwest Ghana,

Second award: Mashood Zaynab, Jan Mazurkiewicz, Mateusz Rawski, Krzysztof Florezyk, Marcin Wisniewski, MSc student at Animal Production Management (Faculty: Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science); Topic: Effects of fish meal dietary replacement with selected insect larval meals on the growth performance and feed utilization of european chub juveniles,

Third award: Joyosri Das Mou, MSc student at Food Science and Nutrition (Faculty: Food Science and Nutrition); Topic: Food technology can save the world.

The First Scientific Conference of International Students held at the Poznan University of Life Sciences provided a unique platform for intellectual exchange, collaboration, and international students' presentation of scientific achievements. It also laid the groundwork for future conferences, confirming PULS-ISA's commitment to the academic development of UPP and the support of talents within the international student community.

The Association of International Students of the Poznań University of Life Sciences (PULS-ISA) extends its thanks to the university authorities for their patronage of the event and to all those involved in preparing the conference. We congratulate all the presenters on their wonderful performances.
