Christian Onuoha Ugwu, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, along with his spouse, visited the Poznan University of Life Sciences. Nigerian diplomatic representatives met with Nigerian students studying at the university and visited the Pilot Biotechnology Station and the University Center for Veterinary Medicine.
The Nigerian Ambassador was accompanied on the visit by Patience Obinna-Okiyi, the Head of the Embassy Office, and Saka Lawal, the Second Secretary of the Nigerian Embassy in the Republic of Poland. The visit was organized by the Marshal's Office of the Wielkopolska Region as part of expanding cooperation with our region. It was the first meeting between Nigerian diplomatic representatives and the authorities of the Poznan University of Life Sciences, represented by prof. Krzysztof Szoszkiewicz - the Rector of the university, prof. Piotr Slósarz - Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, prof. Piotr Goliński - Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation, and prof. Jean Diatta - the Rector's Plenipotentiary for Foreign Students. It was an opportunity to establish cooperation and open up new perspectives for the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
However, what particularly stuck in the Ambassador's memory were the conversations with the students. The Nigerian diplomats had the opportunity to talk with young people studying at the Poznan University of Life Sciences, representing various fields of study. During the discussions, they could learn more about their interests, aspirations, and professional perspectives. The students willingly shared their experiences and observations regarding their studies at the university. The conversations with the students not only allowed the diplomats to better understand the needs and expectations of the younger generation but also opened up a discussion on potential areas of collaboration.
The meeting concluded with mutual satisfaction and hope for further cooperation.
