We are pleased to inform you that on June 16. PhD student of the Faculty of Food Sciences and Nutrition, Iskandar Harahap, MA, was among the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) scholarship holders. He received his diploma from the Vice President of DAAD, Dr. Muriel Helbig during the jubilee celebrations of the 25th anniversary of DAAD in Poland and the reunion of former scholarship holders in Warsaw.

DAAD supports young scientists and students in the implementation of their research by granting scholarships for a research stay at a university or in a non-university research unit in Germany.

Iskandar Harahap is currently continuing his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Food Sciences and Nutrition, Department of Human Nutrition. His groundbreaking research focuses on the exploration of bioactive compounds found in Tempeh, a traditional Indonesian fermented soybean product, aimed at preventing bone mineral loss in the elderly, under the scientific supervision of Prof. dr hab. Joanna Suliburska.

The received scholarship gives the doctoral student a chance to conduct his research in the laboratories of a renowned university - the Technical University of Munich.

We sincerely congratulate Iskandar on the scholarship he received, which will certainly allow for his further scientific development, deepening research and creating valuable publications that will bring new solutions in the field of food science and nutrition.
